TWO IMPORTANT BUR MEETINGS NEXT WEEK!
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is updating its Noise Compatibility Study (Study or Part 150 Study) in accordance with the FAA's process and will conduct four Open Houses and Citizen's Advisory Committee meetings.
Purpose of a Part 150 Study: Identify levels of airport noise and measures designed to reduce such noise. Based on the Southern San Fernando Valley Airport Noise Task Force, this Study should include our impacted areas.
Study includes flight paths: We need you to remind them that Task Force Recommendation 14 stated that this Study should consider whether alternative northern departures would provide more noise abatement benefits, as well as elimination of "wind arrivals" over Santa Monica Mountain communities.
Your participation and attendance matter! Without active participation from our community, the Study may focus on areas in the immediate vicinity of BUR.

CAC meetings are open to the public.
The CAC was mandated by the Task Force to "address community concerns throughout the San Fernando Valley." The original Bylaws required 3 representatives from Los Angeles neighborhoods. Prior to forming the CAC, BUR revised the Bylaws and removed the 3 L.A. reps, limiting membership to 9 residents of Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena only. Most of the members of the CAC do not live in areas that experience BUR noise.
The CAC members want to help, but the CAC needs to hear from YOU about what BUR noise is really like! Attend meetings to describe your experience.
