PLEASE ATTEND IN-PERSON SCRA MEETING!
STUDIO CITY COUNCILMEMBER RAMAN TO SPEAK
TUESDAY, MARCH 8, 7:15 PM to 8:45 PM
AT BRIDGES ACADEMY IN STUDIO CITY
Much of Studio City is now newly in Councilmember Raman's 4th District. She was also recently appointed to the Governing Board of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the agency that sets key regulations affecting air quality and pollution. Councilmember Raman will be the guest speaker at the Studio City Residents Association ("SCRA") meeting.
SCRA IN-PERSON MEETING DETAILS:
Bridges Academy Gym
3921 Laurel Canyon Blvd.
Studio City 91604
7:15pm-8:45pm (Doors open at 7pm)
NOTE: Masks and proof of vaccination are required.
Councilmember Raman needs to understand the devastating Burbank Airport jet noise and pollution issue that Studio City residents have been actively fighting against for 5 years, since early 2017, when the FAA moved the flight path over residents without notice or environmental study.
This is the perfect opportunity to tell Councilmember Raman how important the jet noise and pollution issue is to you and that we are in desperate need of her help! She MUST hear from residents or else she won't work on our behalf.
Here are some specific suggestions:
Tell her Burbank Airport is at pre-pandemic jet numbers and they are vigorously forging ahead with building the new and expanded Replacement Terminal, despite the City of LA's lawsuit against the Terminal. Impacts from the focused and debilitating flight paths continue to worsen and will dramatically increase with the Replacement Terminal! We need her to encourage the City to block Burbank Airport’s progress at every turn.
Tell her to schedule a meeting with the City Attorney and ask him to file an injunction immediately to stop Burbank Airport from proceeding with the Replacement Terminal building plans for the duration of the City’s Burbank Terminal lawsuit.
Tell her to schedule a meeting with the City Attorney's office and request that the Burbank Airport Replacement Terminal lawsuit be used as leverage to pressure the FAA into moving the flight paths.
As a new Governing Board Member of the South Coast Air Quality Management District, Raman should understand that Burbank Airport's low-flying and concentrated jets are causing severe pollution impacts. Tell her that jets spew cancer-causing ultra-fine particles that fall to the ground and people are getting sick!
YOUR PRESENCE IS IMPORTANT! THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! Also, please call Councilmember Raman's office and tell the staff that you are a new constituent and you would like to know what her office is doing about BURBANK JET NOISE AND POLLUTION!
Councilmember Raman's office phone number is 213-473-7004. Be sure to leave a message! Also, you can send an email to mehmet.berker@lacity.org.
